wrong side of heaven
This painting presents sleep paralysis in 3 stages representing a journey through the entire day ending up having sleep paralysis. The first canvas represents the energy that ran out during the day. Going to the middle shows tiredness, which may cause having sleep paralysis. It may be brought on by a stressful day disrupting a sleeping pattern.
Creating this piece, I marked the body parts of the five basic senses that are the most active during sleep paralysis, which means that we can experience taste, hearing, sight, smell and touch. Each of these connects and goes to the brain, which is represented by a spiral placed in the centre of my painting.
